Updating symantec endpoint
Hello All, We are about to roll out SEP (symantec enterprise protection) to both our Win and Mac machines on campus.
Based on some of the other posts I have SEP packaged and included the "sylink.xml" file based on if they are labs or workstations to auto join our SEP 12 management server.
Do you wonder if your IT business is truly profitable or if you should raise your prices?
I think the problem might be that the client package was configured to be unmanaged.
I know there was a discussion around a tool to do this but cannot find reference to Symantec relasing one
You can always download teh latest definitions to a USB drive or other media and sneakernet them to the system.
"Download Live Update Content" shows that Live Update starts, checks for updates and does/does not download them as appropriate. I haven't tried to download the definitions on any of the clients themselves as it kind of defeats the object of having a managed solution!
:-) Today, I uninstalled the manager software and the client software from the server.

The Live Update function appears to work and the home page of the Endpoint Protection Manager shows that the info is up to date.
